A population profile is used when there is a curiosity about speicific things within a population such as age, hair color, or sex. In this population profile they are looking at the growth and decay of age in the Tasman District of New Zealand. As you can see, it seems that more and more people moved to New Zealand because as the years went up so did the population in most age groups.
